The municipality of Esposende is part of the Braga district and is located in the north of Portugal. The town that gives its name to the municipality is known internationally as "a privilege of nature", as it borders the ocean, the river, the plains and Monte de Faro.

Much of the municipality's territory lies on the plain, bounded to the north by the Neiva river, to the west by the sea and divided in the middle by the Cávado river. Among the many points of interest, Esposende stands out for its beaches with iodine-rich waters, its vast natural park, its windmills, its Bronze Age cultural heritage such as the village of São Lourenço and, of course, the region's gastronomy.
